Introduction:

In Video Starter Kit 5.2, website configuration section has been re-architect and give more control to handle not only system wide settings but also manage all available website features and increasing performance of web application.

Now website configuration data store in XML (config.xml) file located at app_data folder instead of storing in database and web.config file.

User with administrator privilage can access configuration section in control panel under settings -/ configuration.

There are four main parts of configuration section.

1. General: Admin can set all main website related configuration settings.
2. Media: Admin can set media (video, audio, image) related properties including encoding options here.
3. Server: Admin can set media storage related settings here.
4. Feature: Admin can toggle every feature of web application on and off from here.

Through feature settings admin can shown or hide almost any feature of web site and also allow users to post comment, rating etc without login.

Configuration settings are store in config.xml file located at app_data folder. We highly recommend that don't make any changes in config.xml file directly. It will create severe impact on website performance.
